The Soulfaring logo was inspired by two primary sources: classical alchemical symbolism, combined with elements of the heraldry from one of the many streams of Scottish ancestry on both sides of my family.
Building upon knowledge of the ancient world, C.G. Jung was one of the foremost proponents of a metaphoric and symbolic understanding of alchemy. In other words, rather than a literal or physical interpretation (e.g. turning lead into gold), Jung perceived alchemy to be a psychospiritual process, and alchemical symbolism to be a map for the individuation process, the journey of self-discovery, and integration of the conscious and unconscious mind.
As an activating agent, the alchemical symbol of the winged heart-eye with crown represents the spiritual journey, cultivation of wisdom and compassion through the practice of awareness, and personal sovereignty (inner freedom) that comes from experiencing liberating insight and transformation.
The use of my own rendition of this imagery for the Soulfaring logo is a recognition of my own ongoing alchemical process, an honoring of ancestors, an overt, unabashed acknowledgment of the spiritual dimension that is present in my work with people, and an honoring and invocation of your own spiritual journey.

The Soulfaring Logo
I chiseled the names of my paternal ancestors on three stone tablets and placed them in the courtyard of the Tower. I painted the ceiling with motifs from my own and my wife's family coat of arms. When I was working on the tablets, I became aware of the fateful links between me and my ancestors. I feel very strongly that I am under the influence of things or questions which were left incomplete and unanswered by my parents and grandparents and more distant ancestors.
